On the way to the Northern Cape, via Port Elizabeth,  (Yes, that was our way to go! ) we stopped at Graaf-Reinett. A village with beautiful old buildings.

I had half an hour to run through the town and take some photos. (We still had a long way to go.)

The first sketch is of the gates at the old teacher’s college where my dad studied years ago. At the moment the building is used for police training.

maybe they are a little less skew…

  2. Nice line drawings. Somehow, I don’t mind the gate being a little askew. It gives it character that it wouldn’t have, otherwise. The photos are really nice. They go together the way you’ve arranged them.Would love to see one in a painting by you.
